Behavior Tech (BT) Position:

 

B.E.S.T (Building Essential Skills Together) ABA is seeking individuals who are interested in making a meaningful change in the life of those who have autism. The position of a behavior technician is an ideal role for education/psychology students or those interested in learning about applied behavior analysis. Job Description

  • Provide 1:1 therapy with clients in the home and/or community

  • Implement individualized treatment plans created by the supervising BCBA

  • Collect and graph data to help the supervising BCBA analyze progress

  • Have fun on a daily basis with each client

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.

  • Have a high school diploma or GED and at least 12 months experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.

  • OR an associate's degree or higher in a related field (e.g. psychology, human services, education, etc.) from an accredited college.

  • Staff are required to have reliable transportation to and from client's homes. Therefore, applicants must be able to provide a current driver's license, proof of car insurance, and/or have access to alternate reliable transportation.

  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check.

  • Must have availability during afternoon/evening hours and/or weekends.

  • Experience in the field of ABA or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Job Description

• Conduct initial and any ongoing assessments.

• Create appropriate treatment plans and corresponding behavior support plans that.

• Monitor and analyze available data to help determine where, when, and why problem behaviors occur, effectiveness of intervention and/or any barriers.

• Train staff and/or family members directly (i.e. in person, with opportunities for questions, discussion, etc.) on the implementation of the behavior support plan.

• Conduct treatment fidelity assessments to ensure proper implementation of the behavior support plan.

• Conduct all necessary behavior technician evaluations for direct care staff on your cases.

Qualifications + Requirements

• Must possess a sense humor and ability to laugh at controlled chaos

• Comfortable playing on the floor and possibly using character voices

• Master's Degree in Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, or a related field

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in good standing with the BACB

• MA Licensure for Applied Behavior Analysis (LABA)
